What's So Special About Marriage? Wednesday, May 30, 2012 By Jay and Chaly -.- [ArticleImageHyperLink] Advertising Honestly, i've run this sentence through my head millions of times and still ask, "What's so special about marriage?" It just seems to be a piece of paper and a ring. Basically, they're materials to justify that you'll be together, right? Wrong, marriage isn't symbolized by a ring, paper, a party or stuff like that.  Marriage should be symbolized by how much love there is and how well you treat each other.  It shouldn't be something people see as a rushed thing or considered "not right" because they are not in a married relationship.  No, the couple should be the ones to decide whether or not to take their relationship to the next step of the way.  If you are both willing to spend your whole life together and have kids, go for it, you don't necessarily have to get married!  Plus, most marriages don't last, some die right away, others are forced to end by infidelity, among other reasons.  Once you plan on getting married, you get stressed and act in a way that's not you, which makes your partner think twice. Ooooooh man & don't get me started on planning.  Like, you waste hundreds of dollars on stuff that you might not even need, just to give yourself a luxurious wedding.  I've met girls that want extremely expensive rings, and it seems like they're more involved with the ring than the guy! Honestly, who spends about a thousand dollars on a cake or decorations, instead of saving, that money & doing it yourself?  It sounds cheap but WAY less stressful & it's less to think about. You might as well save it for a house, which is really important, or a party after being so many years together!
