This year many old shows that people know fondly are coming back with new seasons and episodes. These shows have new competition; with some of the major networks piloting new shows in the fall line-up.
ABC’s “Flash-Forward” is doing well on the ratings chart. The show manages to keep the apocalyptic tone and suspense of the premiere episode. John Cho (Star Trek, Harold and Kumar) is one of the many famous faces expected to join this show. However, it seems like all of the other action shows. The reason that this show is set apart is that it follows a community of characters.
NBC’s new show “Community” stayed under the radar for a while and then exploded with great reviews from “metacritic.com” and “zip-2-it.com.” This comedy is set around a lawyer, Joel McHale, who is required to go back to community college and earn his degree. It delivers a very fresh and smart type of comedy, unlike FOX’s popular returning show “Family Guy,” which is more of a slapstick and surprising comedy show. The show’s successful comedy comes from the fact that all of the cast members were previously comedians.
CBS’s new show “The Good Wife,” is the story of a politician caught having an affair and how his wife copes with the aftermath. Julianna Margulies (Snakes on a Plane) plays the wife of Chris Noth, a politician caught in a scandal, and returns to her previous career as a lawyer. It is a new type of drama that could bring something new and different to the genre.
“It is a great show I wouldn’t miss it,” says metacritic.com.
With this new fall lineup and all the returning good shows, the upcoming fall season will not be disappointing. With the way these new shows are revolutionizing and rethinking the way we portray a story with new cinematography and storytelling styles, the television will be full of entertaining shows
