Imagine being hit with a 75-mph ball or being pummeled in the face when you’re supposed to try not to get hit with the ball. That’s right, cringe!

Senior Jason McArthur does more than imagine these situations every time he goes out to play lacrosse. He admits that if you’re not paying attention to the game, you can be hit by the ball in the “cup,” which has happened to him on many occasions.

McArthur was not a natural-born lacrosse player. For 10 years he was a soccer goalie. In fact, he has 20 soccer trophies and numerous certificates. Now he is goalie for lacrosse and has added one more trophy to his collection.

Lacrosse takes up most of his time. He says it is hard to maintain his grades and a life, but he says it is worth every minute when he’s doing something he enjoys.

To keep focused during a game, “Spatch,” the name given to McArthur by his team because his stick looks like a spatula, thinks about girls and the hit song “Let’s Go” by Lil Jon.

He would like to play lacrosse in college, but right now he’s more worried about Maclay. That is the team to beat.
