The Mcdonalds drive through on Farm and Durango. January 30, 2009

Fast food companies are being wrongly blamed for spreading obesity in minors. Having a child means taking full care and responsibility of them. If a parent chooses to stuff their kid with McDonalds for every meal, it is up to them to know that it will not have a good outcome.

Parents trying to sue these companies for the wrong choices they are making for their children are absolutely ridiculous. If their kid is getting fat, it is because of the parent, and not anyone else.

A consumer does not have to buy or eat food from these companies. No one is forcing this food to them through a tube. They can choose what they eat.

The companies’ only job is to sell the food and make a profit. Watching their consumers’ eating habits is not in the job description.
Many parents know this food is unhealthy, and they continually feed it to their children. If they are going to feed it to their children, they should not be allowed to complain when they receive the consequences for their actions.

If a child plays outside in cold weather, and the child gets sick from it, the parent would not sue the cold weather for making their child go out and play. Similarly, the parent should not sue fast food companies for making their kid eat fast food.

It is completely the parent’s decision to feed their kid this food, and the companies should not be blamed for the parent’s mistakes.
