Heroes throughout history have changed the way we live. If it were not for heroes in the past, there would not be a bright future for today. A hero can be anyone from someone you look up to, or someone that saved your life. Both of these types of heroes have changed the world one way or another.

“Heroes are people who, in the face of danger, realize there’s something more important than fear.” said Alicia Luszczyk, senior.

In all fairy tale stories, they have a hero who saves someone or destroys a villain. The Greek mythology, Hercules, for example demolished many creatures, which made him a hero. These heroes make a reader enthralled in the book. Heroes are a vital part in the world. Without them there would be chaos and turmoil.

Even if your hero is someone you admire, they can assist you to become a better person. A hero does not have to be someone who fights to save your life. Tyler Klafke, junior, states “My hero is my grandma because she has helped me with my dreams and has helped me grow up to be who I am today.”

The majority of people who have heroes, their heroes are a family member. “My hero is my older sister because she is the nicest person to me and helps me with all of my problems.” remarks Austin Taylor, junior.

A hero can also be an actor or someone seen before but never met. Jaxon Markworth, senior, says, “My hero is Clint Eastwood. He is the tightest man alive and the fastest shot in the old west.” Martin Luther King Junior is a hero from the past. He may have not destroyed a villain, but he stood up for his rights. All of his plans to end segregation and his “I have a Dream” speech helped him become a hero, to many African Americans everywhere.

Every person should have a hero. Having a hero means having someone to look up to and assist you in becoming a better person in today’s world. Without heroes, there would be no peace and happiness.
