It is stated that texting is a vital part to our health. Do teenagers spend too much time texting their friends instead of participating in outside activity? Now with texting, teens can have a better way to stay in contact with friends, but are teens using it too much?

“I text all the time. Texting is better than calling someone because the conversation won’t become boring,” Says junior, Michael Jackson.

“I never stop texting. I text everyday! I would never be able to survive without it. One time I had my texting restricted by my parents and I couldn’t text for a week! I had such a hard time!” Andie Szekely, freshman states.

Most teens use texting too much, but if you keep texting limited than you can achieve higher grades and success in life. It is intelligent to participate in other activities with friends rather than to just text them all the time.

Mallory Savage, freshman remarked the following: “I text about three times a week and I definitely could survive without it. I feel like I don’t have to text all the time. I can participate in other activities instead.”

Cristy Pioquinto, junior quotes, “Texting is not a habit, it’s a life style.” She also says that the reason most teens text is to find out what is going on with their friends.

Sometimes teenagers may feel more comfortable texting rather than calling someone up on the phone. It is easier for some people to say things through a text instead of calling them up to tell them. It is also a much quicker way to have a conversation.
