What is this "Young Life" thing that some people talk about?

Young Life was started 1941, in Gainsville, Texas by Jim Rayburn.

“Young Life is an organization that lets me share

the gospel to teens that are in need of listening. My

first goal is to let that teen know that others care

for them,” says MG Watkins, one of the male leaders at

Timken Young Life.

“Young Life is a faith-based, non-profit organization that seeks to introduce adolescents to Jesus Christ in a way they can understand,” said Heath Sizick, the Stark County Area Director.

Timken’s Young Life is located at The Church of the

Master on 1358 Cleveland Ave. N.W. Canton, Ohio. Club

starts Wednesday nights at 7:30 pm. People come and

sing songs, watch skits, play games, and participate

in the “organized chaos” as said by Watkins. There

are four leaders, two for the guys and two for girls. The

male leaders are Jon Mathewson and MG Watkins. The

female leaders are Megan Kingsborough and Christina

Ramirez.

There are twenty-one Young Life camps in the

country. Camp is known as the “best week of your

life.” People from around the country go to a certain

camp. Next summer Timken is going to Camp Saranac in

New York.

“We tend to stare at the solution instead of focusing

on the problem," said Watkins.

"It is a sin to bore a kid with the gospel." said Jim Rayburn, founder of Young Life.
