The DCA Choir and Concert Band held their annual concerts the week of December 6th. The choir concert was set off with a very powerful and exciting arrangement of “It’s Beginning to Look A Lot Like Christmas.” The Middle School performed a many entertaining pieces such as “You’re a Mean One, Mr. Grinch.” The most moving of songs were most likely those done by the seniors. Numerous senior choir members performed traditional and some non-traditional Christmas songs. The Legacy Show choir performed many powerful and entertaining songs as well, such as “Once Upon A Wintertime – Medley.” The fabulous concert was ended with the song “Hallelujah” by the full concert choir.

The DCA Band concert took place the next night. The concert, being directed for the first time by Ms. Lindsey Reed, featured songs from each section of the band. The concert began with performances by the sixth grade band. The DCA Concert Band then played the popular hymn “Crown Him with Many Crowns.” The next portion of the concert featured the different sections of the band. The woodwind section performed the theme to “The Nutcracker” and the brass section played “Christmas Jazz Medley – Jingle Bells.” Caleb Lawrence and Jordan Robertson played the popular duet “Carol of the Bells.” The percussion section played a fun, loud piece called “Tubz” in which they used PVC pipes and chairs to make music. The concert was ended with the fun, jolly piece “Sleigh Ride” Along with both concert, marvelous artwork was on display in the lobby of the concerts from DCA art student.
