There are many people with special talents that go without being recognized. Adrianna Reinert is one of those people, and her special talent is art. Reinert is quiet and down-to-earth. She surprises people when they discover her ability to create imaginative characters from a pencil and a piece of paper.

“It’s [Reinert’s art] pretty good, but kind of out there.  It is very detailed and very well drawn,” said junior Lois Bauler.

Self-taught, Reinert has been interested in art since she was three-years-old. She is currently a 14-year-old freshman, who doesn’t let where she is affect her love of line and color. While many artists work in a special place like a loft or a studio, Reinert takes her talent on the road.

“I can draw anywhere,” said Reinert.

Reinert draws mostly cartoon-like animals and characters, which come from her Disney-inspired imagination. She doesn’t need a reason to sketch, but it is an outlet for her emotions, and it lets her work out feelings she has when she is angry, mad, sad, and happy.

“When she did an impromptu demonstration speech on how to draw in class, we could tell that her drawing brought her joy,” said teacher Anna Michaelson. “We were amazed that this quiet girl could create such intricate figures freehand on the board in front of us.”

Reinert is currently taking an art class from teacher Kelli Glasgo to refine her talent. She hopes that this education and her own ability can help her make money from her artwork someday.
