one of the biggest wastes of time and money since guitar hero, rock band and its sidekick have officially destroyed music. Fake instruments, unrealistic singing, and ruining classic songs that no one really knows the meaning about, why it was made, or who it was by is a slap in the face to music in general. Who ever invented Rock Band should be arrested. Yea it might be fun to play and all because it’s on a game system or maybe your favorite song is on there but its also a serious waste of time and talent to future artists and musicians. Take for example, you have an eight year old kid who just started learning how to play guitar, or base, or drums. Then his mom goes out and buys him rock band. Since it is technically a video game and is very addictive and fun to play, he would rather play Rock Band and not even bother to pick up his real instrument again.

Another reason why it’s such a terrible influence on people is that it gives people the wrong idea what playing an instrument is like. I cannot recall how many times i’ve heard people say oh…… well…. I can play the guitar or drums or bass and sing on rock band so playing guitar or singing should be easy. Nope. If people can sit down and willingly play Rock Band for 3 or 4 hours a day then you should be using that time to actually do something with your life and learn how to play a real instrument. The musician pool is very limited with things like Rock Band and guitar hero coming out. These games are extremely fake and a very bad influence on musicians and young kids that want to play instruments. You think ac dc likes rock band? You think Zeppelin would play rock band? Jimmy Page would rather hang himself then play Rock Band. Here’s an idea…… go outside. Get out of your house and play a sport or buy a real guitar and do something useful and rewarding and fun with music. It should be a crime to spend money on these things.

Most people who play Rock Band don’t even know what music is. Well……. Here’s a hint. Its not Rock Band. Maybe someday America will wake up and stop getting brain washed with all this nonsense we have out today that gives music a bad name. but for now……………… there’s Rock Band
