Manny Ramirez has always had goofy acts and funny mistakes throughout his career but reported on May 7th Ramirez made a mistake that fans couldn’t laugh about this time. Manny Ramirez reportedly tested positive on a drug test for hCG. Ramirez said he did not take steroids and was given medication by a doctor. The doctor told Ramirez that it was okay to use that medicine without getting in trouble. Manny sent in a urine sample during spring training just like every player to have it tested for drugs but he failed and showed positive for having a big amount of unnatural testosterone in the urine. The medicine Ramirez was taking created more unnatural testosterone that a normal human body creates. For testing positive Manny Ramirez is now suspended for 50 games. The Los Angeles Dodgers who are having a great start to the season will now have to struggle without the fiery bat of Ramirez in the line up for 50 games. Ramirez owned up to this problem being his fault and apologized to Dodgers owner Frank McCourt, Dodgers General Manager Ned Colletti, The team Manager Joe Torre and all of his Dodger teammates and fans. With this happening to Ramirez it just another dark day for baseball. Ramirez who most thought was one of the only pure great hitters in baseball is now looked at just like every player before him who was caught taking steroids or tested positive for illegal substances.
