A very excited Erica Wilson, front office receptionist, just had her first child.

Nolan Wayne Wilson was born on Sept. 19 by Caesarean section at 10:18 p.m. He weighed 7 lbs. 4 oz. and measured 19 inches long. His due date was Sept. 28, but all along Wilson and her doctor were convinced that it would be before that, she said.

Wilson and her husband Paul, who have been married for 13 years, decided on the baby’s first name, Nolan, together. Wayne, also Paul’s middle name, is a family name.

While Wilson recovers, her husband is decorating a new nursery, which will be painted blue and white and be “Winnie the Pooh” themed.

“He is so cute,” Wilson, 38, said. “He has dark brown hair in a swirl on his head, and big blue eyes. He has this little nose and long fingers. He’s a long and lean baby.”

Wilson said that Nolan has been unexpectedly calm and alert. “He barely ever cries,” she said.

But Wilson herself isn’t as relaxed. “I have all these new ‘mommy nerves,” she said. “It’s all new—crying, diapering, throwing up.”

However, the real question is whether baby Nolan will attend Country Day.

“I would like him to stay at Country Day with me, starting in Pre-K,” said Wilson. “I’d love for him to be a Lifer, but I’m not going to make him if he doesn’t want to.”

And for those of you who are wondering about when Wilson will return, worry no long.

“I will definitely visit after Halloween with the stroller, but I’ll be back at my desk when you guys come back from Winter Break,” she said.
