Funniest moment?
“When we went up to Golden Sierra and it started, to hail, rain and snow. But we still had to play. Before the match started we were catching the snow on our tongues.”

Lowlight?
“Losing the final was kind of disappointing. I lost the first set. The second set was 7-5; I won that set. The last set was 4-6, and I lost. I was still proud that I got that far.”

Something most people don’t know about your sport?
“People don’t think it’s challenging, but it’s actually really strenuous. There is a lot of running involved, and there are a lot of quick movements.”

Favorite aspect of tennis?
“I like playing singles because I don’t have to rely on anyone else, and if I make a mistake, I can only blame myself.”

Sports idol?
“Novak Djokovic because he is fairly young, which shows that you don’t have to have much experience to win. I can relate to that because I’ve only been playing competitively for three years, and I’m good for having that much experience.”
