When someone messes up a girl’s hair, she usually screams or goes to a bathroom to fix it in a hurry. This is because for any girl, they take a lot of precious time to do their hair and make it their masterpiece for the day.

“I actually do spend a little more time than I should getting ready,” said sophomore Jordon Gregory, “I usually just take my time and have fun with it.”

In the mornings, most students are tired and wake up with little time to get ready. So their appearance doesn’t matter as much to them at school. But, after school when they go places or on weekend nights, it is said to take so much longer for girls to get ready.

“At school, I don’t really care what I look like that much,” says Gregory, “ I’m just too tired in the morning to wake up early just to get ready. But, on the weekends I take longer because I’m awake and I take longer because I want to look cute.

Some girls go through many difficult processes to get their hair exactly how they want it. They might go to salons, get it dyed or colored, straighten it, curl it, crimp it, scrunch it, braid it, and many other styles. Girls have to be careful though, because if they do this too much to their hair, it can burn or fry their hair, which will make it look really bad.

“I do dye my hair,” says freshman Alexis Rigsby, “ It has been a cherry chocolate red for awhile, and I’m just now trying to get it back to my natural hair color which is dirty blonde. Surprisingly, my hair is actually pretty healthy for being dyed. I consider myself lucky now, so I probably won’t keep dying it anymore.”

Other girl’s don’t care at all how they look for school because they say they are too tired in the morning. Some girls are lucky and don’t have to wear any make-up or take a long time to do their hair. Some have said that they only want to look good on weeknights or weekends when they have a reason to look cute for.

“Most girls like me take a long time in the morning to get ready, but I get up late for school all the time,” says sophomore Briana Chisholm, “ Normally I just don’t have the time to get all ready, so I usually just throw on jeans and a cheer shirt or a comfortable t-shirt and go to school.”

As anyone can see, some girls take a lot of pride in their appearance so messing it up may freak them out or make them mad. Getting ready in the morning depends on how a girl feels, what they have planned that day, and who they will see at school or anywhere else. A girls hair is the topping to their perfection piece, sometimes it takes them a long time to do it, and other times it may only take them a few minutes to just throw it up. Either way, just like hanging out with the boys and playing football is a guys pride, making their hair perfect is a girls pride.
