21on the team along with one coach, three managers, and one mascot, their bond iscloser than ever.
“Iam so excited about the year, the amount of talent we have on the squad is justtremendous. I really hope we get a chance to show it off,” junior cheerleaderMelinda Zanner said.
However,the cheerleaders are not the only ones making up the varsity squad this year,the mascot and managers also play a big role this year.
“Iam really excited to be a part of the program this year, and hope I can be abig help to the squad this year with whatever they might need,” varsity managerErica Wilkins said.
KerriYee, being the new varsity coach is also ecstatic for the year.
“We’vegot very talented cheerleaders, an awesome new set of boys for blue crew, andsuch wonderful parents to help us out with anything we need, theres no chancethis year wont be a great one,” varsity coach Kerri Yee said.
Lastyear, the competitive cheerleading program was a huge success, coming in secondplace at the competition Cheer America.
Theyare still deciding if they will continue with the competitive programcurrently.
Allthe excitement surrounding the program will only bring even more mustang spiritto our own Friendswood High school.
