At-a-glance

This old truck has been a part of the faculty parking lot for more than a year. Student journalist John Glassburn asked a number of students about who they think owns it and why is it in the parking lot.

(Editor’s Note: An old truck (right) has been a part of the LHS faculty parking lot for more than a year. As a class assignment student journalist John Glassburn showed LHS students a photo of this truck and asked them about this old vehicle. Some of their responses follow. Revisit CyberPlainsman later this month when John, in another story, will reveal the true owner and origins of this mysterious truck.)

Do you think that you can guess whose truck this is and why it is such bad shape?

Some students had an answer to this question after I was sent out on a mission to determine whose truck this was and their opinions on the mysterious truck.

Senior Alison Lebeda: "It’s in such bad shape because the truck is old. It has probably been through a lot and there could be a lot of history in that truck. Maybe that is why the school has kept it around?"

Senior Erin Reyenders: "I think it belongs to Mr. Hogsett. It’s in bad shape because teachers don’t have the money to fix a car."

Junior John Shumway: "I think it belongs to God. It’s in bad shape because it’s really freakin old and nobody works on it."

Junior Brian Fortman: "I think it belongs to Stansbury. It’s in bad shape because he is a hippie."

Junior Peter Marcott: "I think it belongs to John Glassburn. It’s in bad shape because it has been sitting around for a while."

Senior Josh Baldwin: "I think it belongs to the last superintendent that didn’t call a snow day. This banged up hunk of junk sits as a reminder to those who have the "sand" to go up against Wyoming’s most vicious pack of high school students. The old Chevy sits in the faculty parking lot because the teachers of LHS are just as blood thirsty as the students."

Senior Mackenzie Marshall: "I think it belongs to Mr. Schreckengost. It’s in bad shape because he is a math nerd."

Junior John Labonta: "I think it belongs to some student in the ag department. It’s in bad shape because people are taking it apart."

Senior Kyle Clark: "I think it belongs to Mr. Sorenson. It’s in bad shape because the weather outside is so frightful."

Junior Amanda Robins-Lilly: "I think it belongs to one of the shop teachers. It’s in bad shape because it has had a rough life."

Senior Nafisah Ula: "I think it belongs to absolutely nobody. It’s in bad shape because when school first opened a student put a car bomb in it and it blew up without harming anyone. The school is too cheap to have it towed, thus it remains here to this day."

Sophomore Clayton Niss: "It’s in such bad shape because it is old."

Senior Brandon Brant: "It’s in bad shape because it is as old as Mr. Roth, the trucks slightly in better shape though."

Sophomore Joshua Martinez: "It’s in such bad shape because no one takes care of it."

Senior Ben Parkhurst: "It’s in bad shape because some teachers got drunk and thought it would be funny to take apart the truck in the parking lot."

Senior Taylor Dubois: "I think it belongs to Bob Roth. It’s in bad shape because he drove it here on his first day of teaching, and as an initiation the others teachers destroyed it."

Senior Angela Pisciotti: "I think it belongs to me. It’s in bad shape because I kicked it, and I kick hard so it hurt the car."
