When students, teachers, and the rest of the faculty return from winter break, they will be part of history. The new addition will be opening and students and teachers will jump for joy. With one crammed stairway, hallways full of people, and a parking lot of crazy drivers; hearts are full anticipation for the new addition to open. Most problems should be resolved. The new addition coming in early January will give students more room to move and an extra stairway to travel from floor to floor.

Many students have their own opinions about the construction zone. Senior Matt S. said, “I’m hoping this will make my life easier as a senior.” Ways to get around school are limited. There are only four hallways and a main stairway. Traffic with students is hectic during passing periods. Matt says, “the new building will be great, now I won’t have to tell people to move out of my way.” Besides the issue of being jammed packed, the weight room would be the next factor. Matt said, “I hate the weight room because of how small it is, all I want is the new and improved one.” The weight room has out of date equipment and can only fit a maximum of 16 people in it.

The atmosphere at Plano High will rise. Students are anxious to see and learn in the new addition. “I think this will make everyone happy to go to school for quite some time” says Matt. The tardies may go up for the first week when students return. Due to moving classrooms, some may not know where to go or it could take them longer to get to class. Is this going to be a problem? Matt said, “ students will have a difficult time finding class when the addition opens, but give it time and it will be back to normal.” For now we will all wait to see what the new year and addition has to offer.
