Cheerleading isn’t all fun and games. “It’s a lot tougher than what people think it is,” says junior Paige L. They do have to do a lot before each Friday. They have to make up a dance, practice cheers, and do stunt sequences. Paige stated “Perfect it till it’s perfect.” And they had a lot of practice over the summer at their cheer camp, where Hannah B. perfected her scorpion. Paige stated the scorpion is “when she pulls her leg above her head in a mount.” One of the hardest parts of cheerleading is trying to get everyone to learn the routine and perfect a dance. It puts a lot of pressure on the cheerleaders. Even through all the hardships Paige says, “this season is good, and we are learning a lot of new stuff. Unfortunately it’s the end of the year.” She says her favorite part is most of her close friends are in cheerleading and it’s fun to learn new stuff. She ends with one final word to the seniors, “I’ll always remember the good times with them.”
