The Rocket Summer is a new band that is unlike a lot of bands out today because it has really fun and happy tune. Bryce Avary is the main singer, songwriter, and instrumentalist behind the band “The Rocket Summer’s” new CD, “Do You Feel.” This is Avary’s third album but his first major label release. Like his last albums, he has written and performed the entire album by himself. His music is a mixture of rock guitars, sunny pop, and a cavalcade of pianos. The new album, “Do You Feel”, can be compared to one of the pop/punk band “Hellogoodbye” who sings “ Here In Your Arms” and “All of Your Love”.

Avary grew up in Texas as a child. When he was in school he was considered a nerd so he had a lot of time on his hands. He would stay at home and listen to his favorite Indie rock bands like “Superchunk” and “Built to Spill.” At the age of 12 he really fell in love with music and opened his eyes to a wide range of artists. He began writing songs and playing various instruments. Listening to his songs I can really feel his compassion for music. After playing solo at a few cafes and parties around his hometown, Avary decided to record his first album.

Overall, I really enjoyed the “The Rocket Summer’s” music. It was very upbeat and fun. I encourage everybody to go out and buy the CD because anybody can relate to the lyrics.
