Every year in the fall the occupants of MJSHS come in looking a little out of the ordinary. Around homecoming Madison Jr./Sr. High School has one week where students and staff celebrate the upcoming festivities by taking part in spirit days. Spirit days are themed days in which students and staff are allowed to dress up in costumes and clothes outside their normal look. This year spirit week is from October 12, 2009 to October 16th, 2009. All five days have a different topic or theme.
These themes are meant to make the long school week before homecoming more enjoyable. On Monday students can just get right out of bed and throw on a hat for that messy hair; Its pajama and hat day. On Tuesday, everyone can sail through school looking like a pirate. Wednesday, students saddle up with style sporting the western look. On Thursday, students go wild and get wacky with crazy day. Finally, Friday students show some spirit wearing red and white to support our school by proudly wearing our colors.
It is important that all students remember any school attire must stay appropriate. Nothing vulgar, offensive or in general “bad taste” can be worn at anytime. Spirit week only happens once a year, so hopefully many students will participate and most of all, have fun!
