At-a-glance

As we get older we start to give things up that seemed the world to us as children.

From finding your parents putting “Santa” on your gifts to realizing an Easter bunny can’t possibly lay chocolate delicious eggs.

“It is huge disappointment when you find out all these things are not real and that it was your parents the whole time. But it feels good to know that parents care that much to dress up as Santa, hind eggs for us, and do all the little things to make our childhood amazing.” Said junior Meagen Thomas.

Some things we give up on but everyone still has a little bit of kid in their heart, or do they? In this world of desensitized youth I set out to see what one can still hold on to.

Junior Macy Musick, states “I will never be too old to watch Saturday morning cartoons and go sledding on a snow day with my friends. It is something everyone will always love. Some kids think they are too old for these things, but these are the best times of our lives. Students were extremely varied in there answers, some were all for old toys and telling Santa their Christmas wishes, while others wouldn’t even sing a Christmas carol.

Sophomore Chelsey Morefield said,” you can never be too old to play dress up and I still break out my dolls some times. I love my kid side!”

All in all students still know how to relax and have fun but they can tell you that.

Senior Steven Smith says,” I think I am too old for some things but over all we are still kids at heart.”
