We’ve all seen the way some people talk on the internet or swap their hidden languages over instant messaging and text. Some exchange the letter O for the number zero and others will type 30 word sentences in only 10 letters.

My opinion on this lingo is that it’s ridiculous. The ones that speak this internet language are wasting more time typing out their phrases incorrectly and trying to comprehend them than they would if they just typed their words out the correct way.

I’ve noticed that when it comes to homework or schoolwork most people that use this fancy diction use it in their history projects or English papers. Not only are they doing it on purpose, but because they use the abbreviations and incorrect spelling continuously on the internet, they cause it to become a habit and ingrained into their speaking.

I believe this language will cause its users to fail in important endeavors in their future if they continue to let it take over their correct speaking abilities.

So cut the crap, not your words.
