Art Guild in first stages of painting mural

Bringing the student body together is no easy task, but it is one that is being attempted by the members of Art Guild.

Sponsored by TASMAD, Art Guild will paint a mural on the two walls surrounding the library. On one side of the wall, athletics will be depicted. On the other side, academics will be pictured.

“The project will be time consuming and it will be hard finding people committed to finishing it,” Bonnie McIrvin, sr., said.

Another concern the artists have is vandalism.

“I’m very worried about vandalism,” Rebecca Deeds, sr., said. “People should show respect for the project. It represents everyone.”

The members on the Art Guild Executive Board all have their reason for participating in such a monumental event.

“We’re doing the project to bring everyone together and to unite the school. We are not leaving anyone out, everyone will be able to connect with it,” Megan Stucky, sr. said.

The Art Guild would like to ask anyone with artistic talent to participate in the mural Tuesdays after school and during seminar periods on Wednesdays.
