The class of 2005 chose six seniors for the High Life to feature in six subsequent issues. These are their stories.

For Brandon Hamel, sr., watching movies is just another day at the job. Brandon has worked at the movie theater for three years.

Since he’s worked there, Brandon has watched almost every movie that has come through the theater.

He also collects memorabilia from movies.

“I have almost 100 posters. Most of them are still rolled up, but I have Kill Bill Volume I and The Girl Next Door on my wall,” Brandon said. “I want to sell them someday.”

When Brandon is not working at the theater, he’s busy tweaking his ‘97 Mitsubishi Eclipse. So far he has revamped the intake and exhaust.

“I plan on selling it before too long, so it’s not worth putting too much into,” Brandon said.

He even applies his love of cars in the classroom. Brandon takes Auto and plans to use his knowledge in the future.

He plans to attend the University of Michigan and major in mechanical engineering.

“I want to design mechanical parts for cars, hopefully for GM,” Brandon said.

Although Brandon knows he must have a practical car for the long Michigan winters, he still dreams of owning a sports car.

“I’d like to have an Aston Martin Vanquish or a Lingenfeltr 427 twin turbo corvette,” he said.

Cars are sure to be a major factor in Brandon’s future, but movies will always be his hobby.
