From the fields of elementary school, to Saturday morning Little League games, to High School star, the future is bright for the Davis Darts defensive end Troy Hinds.
A lot of players send film to colleges to get the college coaches and recruiters to take a closer look at them in games, but Hinds said “Ultimately you have to go out there and make plays.”
With Colleges interested and attracted to Hinds since the end of his sophomore year, everyone knew his future would involve playing at the collegiate level.
Hinds had offers from Nebraska, Stanford, Notre Dame, Utah, the list goes on. Hinds chose Brigham Young University.
Hinds said, “Everything just kept coming back to BYU, I didn’t have to sacrifice anything for what I wanted so I just decided I knew where I wanted to play. So, I decided to pull the trigger.” Another reason that Hinds chose BYU was that they would hold his scholarship when he serves an LDS mission.
Hinds said that if Texas or Oregon would have offered him, that would have been pretty sweet but he was set on playing for the Cougars. Troy Hinds said “I’d have to say seeing the whole crowd come out, playing with the team, and making a big hit.” Are some of the many aspects of football that he loves.
Troy loves all kinds of food. He enjoys fly fishing, Xbox and hanging out with friends. Even though he is going to be wearing BYU blue, his favorite color is green. He says not for any reason, it just always has been. Going to the NFL is a dream of many college football players. “If it was an opportunity I would for sure want to but I’m not set on it.”
