The bouquets of flowers and beaming faces say it all-homecoming season is here once again. CV’s "Just Dance" themed event will take place tomorrow at The Cathedral of Our Lady of the Angels from 7 to 11 P.M.

In past years, each homecoming dance’s unique theme has carried it in a new direction, location included. After much thought and consideration, ASB decided that the cathedral would be the one thing to remain constant this year from the last.

"It’s such an amazing venue," senior Carineh Ghafafian said. "I’m not surprised they didn’t find a new one."

Just a twenty-minute drive from CV, the Cathedral offers a huge outdoor area for students. Veiled by a starry cover and illuminated by the thousands of shimmering lights that lead to the trickling fountain, the exterior will house the huge dance floor- a true reflection of the theme. The majestic inside, on the other hand, will provide a fallback option in case the weather does not permit students to remain outside.

Tables carrying refreshments and finger foods will be set up, along with a bag check for coats and purses.

No one will be allowed into the dance after 9 P.M., and those violating the semi-formal attire rule will be denied entry without a refund. Also, a student ID card will need to be shown prior to entering the dance- the same applies for guests from other schools. Once admitted, there will be no re-entry for students for the rest of the night.

Tickets for the event were sold at the student store at snack and lunch for $35 with ASB, and $55 without. For guests from other schools, the cost was $55, and a form should have been filled out prior to purchase.

Although prices have gone up from previous years, the least ASB can charge for tickets is $35 per student. The homecoming dance costs ASB about $60,000 a year, and even at $38 a ticket, ASB will not make a profit.

Despite the high prices, homecoming is expected to be crazier than ever due to the bottled up energy caused by the super-short summer. In the midst of having fun and listening to the theme, remember the "no freak-dancing" rule.

Limo drop off will be on Temple Street directly in front of the Cathedral’s ballroom entrance area.

"The limo’s the best part of the whole night!" junior Libby Denton said. "It’s the only time you and all of your friends get to party together before you get separated at the dance."

Parking for students will also be available in an underground parking lot at the corner of Hill and Temple for a fee of five dollars.

Pictures will be taken in CV’s Big Gym by Bronson’s Photography from 3:30 PM to 7:30 PM the evening of the dance.

With all the craziness of school and extracurricular activities, homecoming is a great way to relax and have fun with friends. So buy a ticket, find a date, and go!
