The wait is over and the groundbreaking First Person Shooter Halo 3 be released on Tuesday, September 25th .The exclusive Xbox-360 videogame will feature the continuation of the game's leading hero, the Spartan II super soldier Master Chief and his ongoing saga to protect mankind and exterminate the invading alien threat on earth.
On August 29th, the game’s developer Bungie Studios officially announced that the game has gone gold. This means that the game is ready for production, and it already has set the new record for the fastest preordered game in history. The title will undoubtedly shatter the one-day entertainment sales record on September 25th.
Bungie Studios has completely reworked many elements of the game to fit the next-generation gameplay. From what Microsoft has revealed, every class of character will be back for more action, including the elites, the completely remade Brutes as well as familiar faces like the computer AI System Cortana, the notorious Flood and of course, our good friend, the Arbiter.
After the mixed reviews of the online multiplayer Halo 3 beta test that was held on May 16 through June 10, the game has undergone extensive polishing to all gameplay components and graphics.
Harold Ryan, Studio Head at Bungie, reassures fans saying that, “This is a huge milestone for us and a big cause for celebration at Bungie and Microsoft Game Studios,” said Ryan. “This is the game we’ve always wanted to make and certainly the best game our studio has developed. We can’t wait for gamers to get their hands on it on.”
“It has the possibility to be the best game ever” said senior Luke Carpenter “I already have the Halo X-Box 360 on pre-order, and will more than likely get the Halo 3 the day comes out.”
When the second Halo released in November of 2004, it changed many gamers’ view on how interactive storytelling could be presented. Halo 2 generated a record-setting $125 million in 24 hours within the U.S. and the game still remains at the top with nearly one billion hours of online gaming on Microsoft's Xbox LIVE within its three years of service.
The game will come in three different sets: the standard, which includes the game and booklet; the deluxe limited edition, which includes a special tin case and bonus disk with features such as documentaries and making of the game featurettes; and the legendary set which includes a highly collectible Spartan Mjolnir Mark VI helmet case and the aforementioned tin deluxe edition of the game. With many gamers already signed on for another tour of duty, this game is bound to be a hit among the casual and the more hard-core gaming community.
