There is a serious security problem at ERHS! A select few iron pumpers have been packing heat everyday. I’m talking about some big-o’ sleeve stretching guns, made of 100% solid muscle. Their pipes are envied and feared by all. They collectively make up what is known as the gun show.

In the spotlight of the gun show are seniors Travis Olney and Mike Ulman, who have the biggest arms in diameter. They are both equipped with a mobile arsenal of fifteen-inch caliber, turret guns.

“I get my best results when I drink protein shakes and eat a lot of food,” says Olney.

Seven other students are not far behind the two superstars and are armed with assault rifles of 14 inch caliber. The gunmen who make up this segment of the show are seniors Eric Lownsbery, Evan Marczynski, Eric Flancher, Josh “the tug boat” Hendrickson, Cam Pell, and Devin Milhiem. Sophomore Jordan Barker also measures up. All seven guys have reported lifting regularly for a long period of time which seems to be the secret to obtaining big guns.

“I had to lift hard and always push myself since my freshman year to get my arms this big,” says Cam Pell.

The show also contains three senior gunmen with 13 inch guns: Blake Strank, Luke Carpenter, and Sean McCoy. Although they are a couple inches away from the top, one glance at them is enough to impress.

“It is a pain in the butt to carry these (his guns) around sometimes, like when I’m trying to get on a plane,” says Blake Strank.

Finally, we get to the main attraction of the gun show. Mr. Ribby’s (personal conditioning teacher at ERHS) guns have a whopping caliber of 18 inches, and are nothing short of cannons. He blows away the competition by a whole three inches. In order to get where he is now, Mr. Ribby says he has been lifting for 21years, ever since he was 15.

“The biggest piece of advice I have is to make sure you do a full range of motion when lifting and to not use too much weight.”
