For the class of 2011, it has been one big change transitioning from middle school to high school. Many of the freshmen are still having difficulty getting used to seeing the older students walk across the hallways, playing varsity sports, or even driving their own cars. Just because you’re an underclassmen doesn’t mean you can’t be a part of anything.

There are many clubs you can join, such as Student Council, a place where students make a difference in the school. Also, if you love to help out and think you have what it takes to be around the football players, you should become a trainer. On the other hand, join the Freshmen committee! You would be able to help and plan for Homecoming and prom if you’re into creativity. There is also Best Buddies, a club that creates friendships among people with intellectual disabilities. Criminal Justice is another club you can join if you want to be a lawyer or policeman. FCCLA, Chess Club, FBLA, Hi-Q, and BPA are all clubs where you can actually go and compete with other schools or even come out on television! Last but not least, there is five other clubs you can join such as Astronomy, Anime, Latin, Science and the Social Studies Club.

Don’t worry Freshmen. Hang in there! These will be the best four years of your life, if you allow them to be. You still have plenty of time to get involved. Enjoy it. Make the most of it. You have a long way to go!
