So
I guess our wonderful high school adventure, and yes I do mean adventure, is
nearly over. The past four years have been the most fantastic years of my whole
life. I’ve made more friends, had more good times and had a lot more fun here
than anywhere else I could even imagine. While I was here my outlook became
that if you can’t have fun everyday of your life then what’s the point? Some of
the great times here have been formals, proms, daVinci days, class day, and our
trip, but generally everyday was fun and everyday we made new memories that I
personally am glad are well document through photographs so that I can look
back and laugh. Leonardo daVinci High School became more than just a school to
me over the past four years, it became like a second home, and the friends I
made here became more like family. If I didn’t come to daVinci and I
didn’t like the people I go to school with I don’t think I would’ve showed up
half as much as I did. Yes I basically stated that I come to school to see my
friends, it’s the truth. I’ve loved, I’ve laughed and I’ve cried here (yes, I
have indeed cried). I don’t know if I could ever really describe what this
place has truly meant to me, because I don’t really believe that the words
exist to do so. I honestly love this place with my whole heart, and I’m
saddened to leave because if I could, I would spend the rest of my life here. I
have never once in my four years here ever regretted my choice in coming here,
and I don’t think I will ever regret that decision. To think that for me it
essentially came down to coming here or going to Bishop Timon Saint Jude High School drives me crazy. I know that this place has irreversibly molded me into
the person that I have become today. If I had gone to Timon, I don’t think that
I’d be prepared for any college, and I probably would have spent the sum of my
four years there copying all my work, hanging out with the wrong crowd,
drinking mass amounts in Cazenovia Park, and probably doing drugs on a daily
basis. I wouldn’t have the same personality I have today, because with all of
my smart ass remarks I probably would have got the *** kicked out of me at
Timon. For all the complaining and moaning I and everyone else does around
here we all know that this is the best school in the whole city (I don’t care
about City Honors or Hutch Tech or what stats say) and there is nowhere else
any of us would rather be. We all talk a lot but in the end we all do
our work because none of us want to fail, I guess the secret is we actually
care.
To my teachers I apologize for being one of the biggest pains in the
last four years, but you all have to admit it sure has been a fun ride. Thank
you for putting up with all the stuff I’ve put you through. And I would like you
all to know that I have learned a lot from each and everyone of you, not just
academic information, but also lessons about life. Thanks again.
Some of my best memories have come from participation in sports and clubs here
at DV. My fondest memory of soccer was when an all out brawl almost broke out
against Hutch Tech. Had it broken out any punishment would’ve totally been
worth it. My best memory of ski club was when we played truth or dare on the
bus ride home. Bowling was a fun sport, I will always remember the time I
twisted my testicle and look back with a fond smile. By the way, thanks Amber
for putting my shoes on for me. Team ten was my greatest memory from tennis,
although team double zero was quite memorable too. Oh and the time I hit Qasim
in the testicles with a tennis ball on complete accident was quite amusing. Oh
and hitting Ike in the butt with my tennis racket too.
I’ve had a lot of escapades through high school and they’ve pretty much all
been funnier than hell. I’ve taken my shirt off, ripped my pants off, dressed
like a complete moron, chased Cody down the hall with a whip, walked around
with a purse (a.k.a. the murse), delivered plants, decorated Mr. McDermott’s
car, kidnapped Sigmund Freud (and hung him), pierced my ears and highlighted my
hair all in one weekend, been extremely loud and obnoxious, and done countless
other hilarious things. Other people have had great escapades too. Like the
time Tory Balasz got kicked out of Ms. Steimer’s study hall and took his desk
into the hall with him. Or Tory’s old weather forecast, not to mention “the
cowboy”. D’angelo pulling the fire alarm and switching keys on the keyboards
was pretty dumb, but insanely hilarious. Jason pushing me and my desk over in
Biology last period freshman year was quite entertaining, Mr. Baish just told
me “Pat pick up your stuff and get off the floor”. There was the whole Barnaby
Jones incident. There was jumping out of the box for Mrs. Hannon’s birthday,
and making Ms. Hughes quit every single day sophomore year, “That’s it! I quit
you folks are never gonna learn this stuff”. There were hilarious English Five
videos and sad tales such as The Great Gatsby in English class. Overall there
were way too many memories and laughs to recap in one article. We laughed nearly
everyday and made high school fun as hell, I’ll never forget these memories and
I’ll cherish the time we spent together for the rest of my life. I’ll miss DV,
I’ll miss all of you, and I’ll miss all of the good times we had here, but I’ll
never forget any of you. I love you all. But there are inevitably people I will
miss more than others.
Katie Felschow you are one of my best friends, but moreover you are like my
sister. We’ve made more memories than I could even begin to count; life around
you is definitely never boring. Aggies lawn fetes were the best. Love you.
Kelsey Bartosz you are my oldest friend, and we got really close this year it’s
about time (it only took 13 years), you will say it’s because of your
license/vehicle but it’s really not. We started Aggies together in 1996 and
we're still friends; I find that to be an amazing thing. I’ll miss you when you
leave me for Maine in August, I
feel like I’m going to lose my oldest friend. Love you midgey.
Eric Schuster, since you got your license you’ve become my partner in crime.
Luckily I don’t have to say goodbye to you because if I did I’d be really sad,
I might even cry. I’m excited for college buddy. Want to go get some more
plants?
Keith Hunt you truly are my best friend and I’m glad that you’re not going to
Fredonia (I know that’s extremely selfish of me), but at least I’ll get to see
you sometimes next year. Oh and don’t try to deny it anymore I totally smoked
you in that race on that one DV day.
Cody Kedron You are my favorite sexy man, who else would I act Gay with on a
daily basis? I’ll miss you next year buddy. I love that we can talk about
anything it’s extremely sweet.
Ashley Fitzpatrick you’re a cool kid, it seems that it just took you three
years to come out of your shell. I’m really glad you opened up and that we
became friends. I can’t wait for college, and many a good time with the mystery
machine.
Kristina Burley cover up your chest and stop popping your lack of a butt out in
every picture you take. You are extremely crazy but that makes life around you
interesting, I’ll miss you a lot next year kid. Who the hell gave you
scholarship money?
Jason Hanley you are my favorite person with an aggression problem. We
definitely didn’t get along when we first met each other, but now I’m glad to
know you. I can’t wait to hang out next year bud.
Kristina Silbak you were so
innocent when you started talking to us, well that went out the window. I am
proud to say that I have successfully corrupted you beyond repair.
Antonia Giuga you are in fact my favorite G and you make any party you’re at,
I’ll miss you next year. Keep on sleeping in class, maybe I’ll join you one of
these days and take myself a good nap too.
Mohammed Sharif you are my favorite smart friend, I’m glad we're going to
college together next year or I’d miss you a ton. Akbar.
Amber Doxbeck who else would I call a gimp on a daily basis? You’re the only
girl I know whose been in the men’s room, and all for your bus pass that you
don’t even use. Thanks for putting my shoes on at bowling that time.
Samantha Hallnan thanks for all the help in math class these few years. I’d
wish you luck in whatever college you go to, but you most certainly don’t need
it. I can’t wait to go to yours and Dan’s wedding, and visit your farm. Future
Farmers of America called, they’ve accepted your application.
Jessica Kwiatowski you are the one and only Hippie that I have ever met in my
life and can stand to be in the same room with. I’m glad you came here
sophomore year, it was a pleasant surprise to find out we went to kindergarten
together. Anyways don’t ever change your views on anything, be different and embrace
your uniqueness. Winston loves his mother (Gandhi). Oh and by the way keep
sleeping everyday in class, it almost seems as though it makes you smarter.
Danielle Wittek I don’t think that I have another friend that would let me take
off their snow pants with my teeth, even in a game of truth or dare. You’re so
out of it and quiet most of the time but every once in a while you pull out the
jokes and they’re hysterical. You made ski club a lot of fun, for real.
John Szablewski I’m glad you chopped off your tail, because since you did
you’ve become a cool kid. You’re a nice guy and don’t let anyone tease you
about your love of musicals. Unique is a good thing. Oh and save our school!
If I forgot
anyone I apologize.
So as graduation rapidly approaches
and our time together here ends I ask that you don’t forget me because I won’t
forget any of you, and please always remember the great times that we had here
at DV. I Love You ALL. See you all later.
