Chelsie Hightower and Louie Vito

Tensions are rising as the top ten contestants are battling it out to become the best dancer in the competition. ABC’s Dancing with the Stars is one of the more popular dance competition shows on television. With Chuck Liddell eliminated, the competition is fierce with few mistakes being made. Aaron Carter, Joanna Krupa, Natalie Coughlin, and Mya seem to be judge favorites. Recently, Kelly Osborn has stepped up her game, but the judges can only score their talent. The viewers’ votes decide who stays and who is eliminated.

Mya and partner Dmitry Chaplin, and Melissa Joan Heart and partner Mark Ballas, tied for first place last week with a score of twenty eight out of thirty. All in all, Mya is at the top of the leader board with a total score of 103, followed close by Joanna and Derek with 93. Mya is making a great impression on the judges, especially after she was rushed to the hospital early in the show for stitches. There have been torn muscles, severe strains, and fractures and still they work their hardest to get to that number one spot.

Both the professionals and celebrities work hard to ace the dances they have to learn. The more challenging dances that they have had to learn include the Quickstep, the Salsa, the Foxtrot, and the Jive. But not all the dances are so peppy. They’ve also taken on the Waltz, Samba, and the fierce Paso Doble.

My favorite couple this season would have to be Chelsie Hightower and Louie Vito. They work well together and they are the youngest couple this time around so they have a lot of energy. They definitely have a lot of chemistry and I think that's important when you’re dancing as a couple because you cooperate more, and are more excited to dance. Judge Bruno Tonioli judged them last week as "grown up, turned on, and ready to rumble! That's chemistry!"

When you watch these contestants, they make dancing seem so easy, but it's not all fun and games. They definitely put in a hard day's work at every practice. Competition is breathing down their necks and it's going to be a tough decision for America to decide who is going to take the trophy as champion of Dancing with the Stars.

i don't exactly think dancing is a sport. it's more of a type of exercise and entertainment. it's just a competition, if it were a sport, then why don't schools hold dance offs or something like that?
