We may hear all the
time about stem cell research, but do we really know what it is? Stem cells are
a class of cells that are able to change into specialized cell types. Commonly,
stem cells come from two main sources Embryos and Adult tissue which are adult
stem cells. Both types are generally characterized by potential to change into
different cell types like skin, muscle, bone, and others.
There
is a New Stem Cell Research Bill that some people say could promote human
cloning, destroying embryos. But is this true? Well, President Barack Obama issued an executive order
this year to force taxpayers to fund embryonic stem cell research that some are
saying destroys human life. Diana DeGette, a Colorado
Democrat, will soon introduce the Stem Cell Research Enhancement Act of 2009
and push to make it permanent.
Some say
DeGette's measures will go further and she will promote human cloning and the
destruction of human embryos.
DeGette has been a long-time
supporter of human cloning and has repeatedly introduced legislation to allow
human cloning for research purposes. But there are many who are forming strikes
against this Bill, there’s still more news to come on this topic, but for now,
you be the judge. Is it wrong?
