Over the next three years LAUSD will spend $6.5 million to retrofit Venice High classrooms with air conditioning.

Three times annually, until the job is done, 10 classes will be retrofitted for air conditioning systems. During the renovation, teachers will have to temporarily move to new rooms while their original classrooms are being remodeled.

Currently, the bungalow classrooms are the first to receive these new systems. Math teacher Mr. John Bruno recently had to move from his bungalow room to a classroom in December of this year, but as Mr. Bruno stated “it will be too cold for air conditioning.”

In the past, the project was stalled due to lack of funding, said Assistant Principal Frank Nunez.
