The Black Student Union is a prominent club in most high schools which promotes unity among a generally under-privileged group of students. Contrary to most, the branch of the Black Student Union at John Muir High School is far less than prominent, far short of unifying.
It is absolutely implausible how the Black Student Union has fallen so far in standard and stature. There are three quintessential factors to the existence and prominence of the Black Student Union: the club itself, which is a great idea to help African-American students achieve academically, there is the leader of the club, Mr. Bynum, who founded our branch of the union in the first place, and the most essential factor would be the students of which the union consists.
Our students, in particular the black students, are provided with an incredible opportunity for extensive and exclusive cultural education. Out of 1,100 students, not a single one decided to take advantage of these opportunities. It’s hard to call an entire group of people ignorant, but that entire group is ignorantly denying itself an education from one of the most talented, passionate teachers. Mr. Bynum is now exerting his effort to ameliorate the Black Student Union, anxiously waiting to share his knowledge with any student who comes close enough to hear him speak. It would be invaluably beneficial to offer him our attention taking advantage of the exclusive education that all of us have ignored thus far.
