The month of May is

bringing in a number of

new and exciting things, both in school and out. While block scheduling is sure to be draining the energy out of us all, Hollywood is bringing out a wide variety of new movies for us to relax to on the weekends. Movies like the brand new Indiana Jones, a second Chronicles of Narnia, the next comic book hero flick Iron Man, and the arguably destructive Speed Racer, which by the previews has not done the old television show justice.

There are plenty of films to look forward to in May, including a few new romantic comedies like Made of Honor and What Happens in Vegas.... A couple new movies may hinder the film industry’s success in May. Movies like Speed Racer are getting little excitement. On the other hand, films like Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull and Iron Man might be seeing a lot of attendance to their premiers.

It’s hard to say whether or not these upcoming movies will be worth seeing, but judging by the previews we can guess at what they might be like. Speed Racer, featuring Emile Hirsch, took a futuristic and videogame-like approach to a classic cartoon. Thrillers such as The Strangers and the Nazi-based Fugitive Pieces may draw out large audiences looking for something other than Prom Night. Comedies like Made of Honor and some action-packed hero movies like Iron Man and the new Indiana Jones are sure to fill the theaters. To the delight of all Narnia fans, an addition to the first movie is hitting the big screen in Prince Caspian. These are just a few of the new upcoming films that are yet to be released throughout the month, but many more movies, both good and bad, will see the big screen during the next four weeks.

The month of May is going to bring a lot of stress, exhaustion, and frustration, but fortunately there will be a wide selection of new movies to choose from that will help rid of the stress from the week.
