Nowadays, the reality television scene has captured the attention of young America. Along with reality television inevitably comes reality stars, who, as a matter of fact, are not stars. With so many opportunities to get famous, the question of what really defines fame will inexorably arise.

So, what really makes someone famous? This question, though veiled behind mysterious meaning and depth, can be answered rather easily.

Fame is gained through some great act of human achievement, whether it be through helping those in need, leading those in need of leadership or even entertaining the amusement-deprived.

Fame should not be gained by saying “that’s hot” or having your sex life broadcast to the world, or even making a complete fool of yourself in a fake pursuit-of-love reality television show.

Consequently, more than half of the “celebrities” that are prancing around Hollywood are indeed not celebrities. These egotistical dolts are just like you and me, but they happen to be extremely good looking or interesting. With this revelation comes the question, “how can I be famous?” Well friends, this article will inform all of you in search of your 15 minutes. Read, absorb and enjoy.

To be a celebrity, one needs to follow three simple rules. First, have a connection to Hollywood, whether it is through family, friends or friends of friends, a connection is needed.

Stars like Miley Cyrus and Casey Affleck all had big connections to Tinsletown, and look where they are now. Without famous relatives, these guys would not have gotten anywhere. For one thing, Miley Cyrus sounds like she has severe nasal congestion when she sings, but that conversation is for another time.

Second, create a catchy slogan, such as “you’re fired” or “that’s hot.” With these extremely simple-minded and hollow sayings come fame, as history will prove. Come up with one of these bad boys and you are all money.

Paris Hilton’s “that’s hot” catchphrase has gained her notoriety that has angered traditionalists and modern-folk alike, but moreover it has given her fame.

Finally, do something out of the ordinary, whether it be dangerous or just plain strange, and if ultimate fame is that which you are trying to achieve, post in on Youtube.

Take Chris Crocker for instance. Crocker, possibly a genius in the art of getting famous, has done everything correctly. (You many know him as the man who dresses up in a blonde wig and makeup and fires out rants about Britney Spears and so forth.) He is exceptionally overdramatic, which further engages the audience and gets his video more views.

In this day and age, “celebriticty” is quite easy to achieve, therefore redefining the true meaning of a celebrity. It this is all that it takes to become famous, why not take a stab at it?
