Writers Strike
Some of your favorite TV shows are about to go into reruns.

On Monday, November 5th, The Writers Guild of America went on strike over getting more money off of DVD and internet sales of the television shows and movies they write for.

Some of the shows affected by this strike are NBC’s “The Office”, ABC’s “Desperate Housewives” (Oh, no!), CBS’ “The New Adventures of Old Christine” and FOX’s “Back to You”. The reason being sitcoms are usually written the same week they are taped..

Immediately on Monday, we were affected by the strike, with popular shows like Comedy Central’s “The Daily Show” and “The Colbert Report” and Late-night talk shows like “The Tonight Show with Jay Leno” and “The Late Show with David Letterman” immediately going into reruns.

The strike is expected to last weeks. New episodes of some shows will continue to air because they were produced before the strike. TV Executives say if the strike continues past the time it takes for their stockpiled scripts to run out, expect to see more reality and game shows on primetime.
