On July 13, “Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix” will hit theaters in the U.S. In this fifth installment, Harry will take on the new Defense Against the Dark Arts teacher, Professor Dolores Umbridge.

Harry and his friends choose to fight off her attempts at controlling the school by creating the secret “ Dumbledore’s Army,” which meets in classrooms secretly.

The movie also features the old actors from previous movies with Daniel Radcliffe as Harry Potter, Rupert Grint as Ron Weasley and Emma Watson as Hermione Granger. Actors joining the cast include Imelda Staunton as Dolores Umbridge, Brendan Gleeson as Mad-Eye-Moody and Helena Bonham Carter as Bellatrix LeStrange.

“Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows,” the seventh and final installment of the series, will also be released this summer, on Sat., July 21.

J.K. Rowling, author of the smash hit books, has warned audiences that several major characters will meet their demise before the story ends. Harry also gets closer Cho Chang in this novel. As they get closer and closer, Ron and Hermione drift from Harry, as romances and quidditch practice inconveniently get in the way of what was once a strong friendship.

As the young teens age, their problems begin to reflect our lives. The book is available to pre-order online at Amazon.com and other retail sites.

In the past, bookstores have often thrown large Midnight Harry Potter parties on the night of the release. It can almost be guaranteed that your local Barnes and Noble will be crawling with witches and wizards of all ages, just itching to get their hands on a copy of this seventh novel! Juniors Kerry Leary and Jacki O’Conner are already gearing up to attend a midnight showing of the premiere of “Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix.”

“When the last movie came out on a Thursday night, we got a bunch of people together to see the movie at midnight,” Jacki O’Conner said, “Some of us fell asleep before it started, but it was so much fun anyway.”

Along with the action and suspense that the Harry Potter movies are sure to bring, another major draw for teenage girls is the actors. “I just love Daniel Radcliffe! He is so cute!” Leary said.

T h e thrills of Harry Potter span generations, and the movies and the books have spurred controversy. Harry Potter books have remained on the top national banned books list since its debut.

Some religious groups have denounced the books because of their positive portrayal of witchcraft and magic.

However much backlash the books may receive, sales are barely hindered by these incidents. Harry Potter books have sold over 325 million copies in over 64 languages. The sixth book, “Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince” sold over 6.9 million copies in 24 hours. This summer is sure to be full of magic and suspense.
