Did you know the sun is a good source of Vitamin D? So, get outside and find something fun to do, knowing you are giving your body and important vitamin. It is because of the ultra violet rays that beat down on you. They are a good source of Vitamin D because the sunlight triggers Vitamin D synthesis in the skin. SPF 8 or higher can block out enough sunlight to make it so you are not able to get a sufficient amount to make the Vitamin D; however, it is still important to use it routinely. Fifteen minutes, two times a week without sunscreen is usually enough to provide adequate Vitamin D. People with limited sun exposure need to make sure they are getting enough Vitamin D in their diets. Think about that this summer all of you video gamers!
