If you haven’t been tuned into Garaway’s spring sports, you should know our baseball team is doing really good. With a record of 12-6 overall, and 9-1 in the IVC, they hold the number one spot. In the first half of the season they won 4 of 14, losing to only non league teams. The guys came out victorious in big games like Ridgewood, TCC, and Sandy Valley. Against Hiland tha whole team played really well and Greg Moomaw hit a walk off double to end the game. These big wins can be attributed to the combined effort and teamwork that is displayed. “Everyone is coming into their own, and we’re a really tight knit group, which really helps us in all aspects of the game. During the second half of the season they lost two league games including TCC and Hiland. They beat Ridgewood in a very intense, twelve inning game, that ended with us up one. On Saturday the guys played their first tournament game at TCC against Tusky Valley. They won 3-2. Coach Felton commented that, “With Hunter, Matt, and Collin down, a few guys really stepped up on Saturday, and that was really important.” Tuesday the 12th is the next tournament game against Sandy Valley at TCC. If you haven’t been to a game yet, you might want to get to it. The season is almost over, and you don’t want to miss these guys.
