The student of the month for October is Sarah Mason. Every month, the teachers here at Garaway first nominate candidates, and then vote for who they would like to see be student of the month. This month's winner was Sarah.
            Everyone sees Sarah as a great person. Rachelle Putt says, “She deserves the award because she works hard and gets good grades. She is an overall amazing student.” Malinda Keim says, “Sarah is really hardworking and really smart. She is a very nice person to be around.” But Sarah does not try to be this great person. It just comes naturally. When asked what to do to get this award, she said, “Just work hard and be good. Be you and it will pay off in the end.”

   While Sarah impresses everyone here at school, she also baby-sits, volunteers at church, and hangs out with her friends. When she graduates in 2012, she plans on going to college to become a nurse or pastor.
