Thumbs Down: Cafeteria Food

Our worst nightmares have come true. Our lunchroom has been converted into "Healthy Foods 101."

What used to be the best cafeteria food in the area has now been trimmed. This is in an effort to “trim” Richland’s apparently growing waistline.

Sad attempts of improving our now health conscious food have been made, however, a Bar-B-Q filled taco shell does not count as pork carnita.

Some food is border-line inedible. Take the french fries for instance. I don’t know what’s going on there, but sometimes they have a louder crunch than potato chips, or taste worse than week old Burger King fries.

School food isn’t making us fat. It’s the five Twinkies we eat when we get home. What are you going to do about that? Make our next test into how much weight we can lose? I think not.

Thumbs Up: Slushies

The real tough question these days seems to be, do I want a Strawberry or Blue Raspberry slushy? FCCLA has a hit on their hands. Every student is in agreement, these are great. They have finally found a healthy refreshment that kids can forget are healthy.

This doesn’t make up for the lack of edible food in the cafeteria, but it’s a start. Hey, they’re no non-diet Pepsi, but I think we’ll live.
