Congratulations to all of the students who received an honor at Monday’s annual Richland Honors Banquet.  Most of the students at Richland were invited to the annual banquet, for finger licking food, pictures, and honor. Well, mostly for the food. Principal Robert Eudaly had everyone bow their heads and said a slight prayer, then went to eating.

The banquet started off with a swift straight to the point introduction speech, and then it was on to the food.  The great feast consisted of barbeque ribs, baked beans, yeast rolls, and ice cream.

“The food was great, I loved the ice cream, says Senior Whitney McClung.” “Mrs. Susan and Mrs. Melina were on the ball with the grub.”

With everyone’s belly full, and some still consuming their food, Robert Eudaly introduced the guest speaker, Richland’s Class of 96’ Trey Ackman.  After the speech they started in with the 08-09 honorees.  There were ten freshman, thirteen sophomores, sixteen juniors, and twenty-six seniors honored on Monday.  Seniors Rebecca Gardner, Amy Holloway, Whitney McClung, Jeremy McGarity, Dalton Murphy, and Jacob Waters all received plaques for obtaining four years of honors.

After the honors were handed out the parents (more or less the moms) did what they do best, and started in on taking pictures of their babies. Most students were tired and full, and really wanted to go home and sleep off their ribs knowing that the banquet was a success.
