With a week full of volleyball games, the girls were very busy. Days they did not play they had practice.  They worked hard during practices trying to get better to improve their record; they set out with three home games to win.

Monday they played the Charleston Blue Jays. Both teams received a win; the Junior Varsity won with scores of 25-21 and 25-14, and the Varsity dominated with 25-8 and 26-24. The girls played a great game and earned another win for the season.

Senior Christine Farrah stated, “I think it was our best game we have played all season.”

Thursday trying to obtain back to back wins as the Campbell Camels came to town.  The fans and team were going crazy. The junior varsity won the game with scores of 25-14 and 25-16. The Varsity also won 25-13 and 25-16.

“We all worked really well together and came to play and ended up with a win,” stated Senior Emily Richards.

The Lady Rebels kicked off Breast Cancer awareness month with a gym decked out in pink. The girls had sold “dig pink” t-shirts earlier this month.  If you wore one of those, or another pink shirt, you gained access to the game for free. The theme was “Fight like a Girl” and they played the Bernie Mules in an intense battle to the finish. Both teams played three sets; unfortunately, it did not end in Richland’s favor.  The JV Rebels lost in three sets by a score of 21-25, 25-22, and 16-25 and the Varsity Rebels lost with scores of 25-27, 25-21, and 18-25.

Senior Tiffany Brown said, “I think the dig pink game went well.  We played hard, and it was great to see everyone support the Breast Cancer awareness.”
