Choosing a nail polish color isn’t the easiest thing to do. Keeping your manicure looking neat can sometimes be a struggle. If you are going for a simple look, light or neutral colors such as light pinks, white, and eggshell are best. For a slightly more sophisticated look, try a French manicure. To add a brand new twist to make French manicures exciting but still look sophisticated, try peaches, pale oranges, or apricots instead of the usual pale pinks. If you like to stand out, bright colors like reds and pinks, or darker shades such as navy blue or black might be your preference.

Many people think that they can’t pull off certain shades of nail polish, but it actually doesn’t really have anything to do with skin tones, so if you see a color you like, go for it! Choosing the right brand for your nails can also be a challenge. If you have weak nails, Sally Hansen’s Hard as Nails for Weak Nails works best, and is the least expensive of all the other brands, averaging at about $2.29 per bottle, instead of the hefty price of $8.19 per bottle for OPI’s line.

Shimmery colors tend to last longer because the glitter clings to your nails longer. Consider using them when you’re in a hurry or aren’t sure what color you’re looking for. To keep your nails healthy if they are not already damaged, make sure to have a healthy diet of fruits, vegetables,

whole grains, and fish. You should also refrain from biting and abusing your nails, and moisturize your nails often.

There are a couple of different methods to keeping your manicure looking fresh. Before you start your manicure, make sure your nails are super clean, because natural oils on your nails can chip the paint more quickly. Another way to extend the life of your manicure is to apply a base coat before adding the colors to your nails. Be sure not to coat the nail polish on too thick, and be sure to paint the tips completely. Lastly, be

sure to apply a top for a finishing touch.
