It’s easy to see that retro fashions have been making their way back for a while now. Big jewelry, geometric patterns, and ripped jeans are seen as today’s looks. When you open up a magazine, you take a step back into the eighties, a decade most people were happy to forget for spring 2009 fashion. However, the fashions just don’t want to die.

Shoulder pads were definitely a shocker on this spring’s runways. Who thought that this bold, bulky look would ever make its way back! Balmain’s designer, Christophe Decarnin, was big with them; if he says it’s okay, bring it on. Shredded lace and destroyed jeans are all back for this spring’s outfits. Designers such as Betsey Johnson,

Charles Anastase, and Just Cavalli definitely followed in the eighties vaudeville, along with a new generation of designers including Alexander Wang. Leopard print skinny pants and flowing geometric designs were strutted through spring fashion week. "Nobody did the eighties trend better than Jacobs," according to Vogue fashion magazine. He sent his beautifully dressed models down the runway with leather stiletto sandals and metallic oxfords. Also spotted were his multilayered and mini tasseled pocketbooks are also inspired by eighties fashion. Not only can you find tassels on pocketbooks, but tassels can be found on boots and shirts.

Jacob’s neon coats, acid wash jeans and zip-up party dresses are seen around New York’s night clubs. Zip up party dresses are fun and easy way to look cute without putting alot of effort. Acid wash jeans look carefree yet cute. Youll look nice no matter what. Everyone that knows anything about fashion knows that retro is in wheter your in the club or just at the mall.

Clothes for these hot designers are now in department stores such as Macy’s, Bloomingdales, and JC Penney’s, and smaller stores like Forever 21 and H&M. Its great that you don’t have to travel far to get great fashions. All the new retro fashion can be found at these stores.

Opening up a magazine is like a blast from the past. Fall’s looks were very different with many references to super heroes, richly detailed embroideries, and country plaids, as opposed to springs minis and prints. You can put the flat iron away for now, because big and curly hair is going along. Nobody would have thought that a new generation of designers would bring retro fashion back, but leave it to them to make it happen.
