Kick Butts Day was a program used by teachers, youth leaders, and advocates all over the United States to encourage students across the United States to stop smoking.
Kick Butts Day at Lake County High School was celebrated by a poster contest. The poster theme was "I would rather be... than using tobacco."
Mrs. Kerri Ervin was the teacher in charge of Kick Butts Day at LCHS.
All students at LCHS were allowed to participate. Students had about two weeks to create a very unique poster using the theme.
Nish Flowers, sophomore at LCHS, won first place with a poster theme of "I would rather be saving the world than using tobacco." Her prize was an Ipod.
Andrea Jenkins, senior at LCHS, won second place with a poster theme of "I would rather be chilling with friends than using tobacco." Her prize was an Ipod Shuffle.
This was a really creative way to express your ideas about using tobacco products. Participation in the project was high, and everyone enjoyed it.
People all over the world can participate in Kick Butts Day or make their own tobacco awareness program.
