The Tennessee Higher Education Commission (THEC), the Tennessee Department of Education (TDOE) and GEAR UP  will host College Application Week 2009 at LCHS from November 16 through the 20th.

The goal of the College Application Week is to provide every graduating high school senior the opportunity to apply to college online using CollegeforTN.org, with a fosuc placed on first-generation students and students who may not otherwise apply to college.

During College Application Week, students are encouraged to apply to at least one  institution on CollegeforTN.org.  In 2008, 14 high schools piloted College Application Week, resulting in the submission of over 1,300 college applications that week.
