The second annual SHS Mr. Spartan competition will take place on Thursday, March 20 at 7 pm in the auditorium.
Senior Rachel Olivieri was so impressed with the previous competition that she wanted to help plan this year's. “Last year’s competition was funny, interesting, and entertaining, so come check it out!” she said
Mrs. Bounaccorsi says to all the boys competing, “have a sense of humor, the ability to laugh at yourself and not care what others think.” Last year only sophomores and juniors competed; however, the event was still successful. Andy Mowry was the winner of the night with James Murray as the sophomore winner.
Andy is very excited for this competition to take place again this year. The most important thing is to “be yourself and have fun,” said Andy.
The following boys will be participating in this year's competition: representing the freshmen are John Iacona, Chris Moscarelli, Shane Hottin, Chris McKeon and Alex Herbert. Chris Brady will be competing for the sophomores. Representing the juniors are Nick Matos, James Murray, John Dias, Jared Shippee, and Rich Capece. The participating seniors are Andy Mowry, Dan Rivard, and Joe Frederickson.
The boys will be judged in four categories: formalwear, talent, an interview, and a version of the show “Whose Line is it Anyway.” Good luck to all boys competing!
