Last Thursday, the National Honor Society held one of the organizations major fundraisers of the year at Pizzeria Uno in Smithfield.
This is the second year that the fundraiser was held at Uno’s, and last year it yielded a good profit for the Honor Society. This year, the members of the Honor Society are hoping for similar results.
According to Honor Society member Kayla Dellefratte, who also went to the fundraiser, “It has been successful in the past, so we expect a good profit.” They hope to find out exactly how much profit they made by the end of the week.
When asked how the fundraiser went, Honor Society member Ashley Hicks had this to say, “We had a good turnout. I saw a lot of people there that I know.”
Hicks, who is also the treasurer of the Honor Society, really took control of running the fundraiser this year.
Ashley believes that the money they get from the fundraiser will help to significantly increase their budget. Since the Honor Society needs to raise 500 dollars by spring, and they have a little under 100 dollars in their budget, this is huge for them.
Hicks concluded with saying, “Any amount that we get is a good amount that we get and will help.”
